What You Love vs. The Day Job

How exactly do you reconcile the distance between doing that you love and doing what you have to do to eat? It means a constant state of dissatisfaction with your life as it is. You are unfulfilled by your day job, so it makes you miserable. You are not successful at what you love, so you don't earn enough from it, therefore you are unsatisfied with that too. This is how dreams get crushed. At some point a voice in your head is going to say, "grow up". People usually see following dreams in adulthood as a sign of immaturity, especially if you are not immediately successful. Most people don't have dreams, or gave up on them a long time ago. Misery loves company.
